Description
How a match of Conflict Escalation works
Phase 1 — Deployment and base construction
At match start, both teams spawn at their respective main bases. The priority is establishing forward operating bases before the enemy does. FOBs can be placed anywhere on the map that isn't yet contested, giving team leadership genuine strategic decisions to make about where to push.
Phase 2 — Contact and lockout
Once enemy contact is made, establishing new bases is locked. This forces both sides to fight with what they've built. The front line crystallizes around the FOBs already placed, creating natural chokepoints and contested zones that emerge organically, not from a map designer's script.
Phase 3 — The push for the enemy HQ
Using their network of FOBs as forward spawn points and supply nodes, teams push deeper into enemy territory. Finding and capturing the enemy main base wins the match. Every harbor controlled along the way feeds more passive supply to your FOBs, rewarding territorial control throughout.
Squad and leadership mechanics
Conflict Escalation puts Squad Leaders at the center of the experience. SLs can set the default radio channel for their squad, activate radio backpack spawn points, and coordinate on the platoon channel in ways regular infantry cannot. Leadership isn't just a title, it comes with real tactical tools.
- Squad Leaders activate group spawn points via radio backpacks
- SLs can set default squad radio channels for cleaner comms
- Only SLs, commanders, and radio backpack carriers can transmit on platoon channel
Why Conflict Escalation stands out in Arma Reforger
The standard Arma Reforger Conflict mode has its fans, but after dozens of hours, the static point layout becomes predictable. Conflict Escalation was designed to solve exactly that. Here's what makes it different:
Fully dynamic base building
All bases are player-built and can be placed anywhere. FOBs extend radio range and become capture points, chosen by the teams, not the devs.
Radio backpack spawn system
Radio backpacks serve as group spawn points, activated only by Squad Leaders not currently in combat. Spawn control becomes a tactical skill.
MSAR reward system
MSAR (Military Service Activity Rating) is earned by completing objectives, capturing bases, and supporting the team, not just from kills.
Tiered radio comms
All players can hear platoon channel but only commanders, squad leaders, and radio backpack carriers can transmit. Immersive and realistic.
Repair trucks & vehicle recovery
A single player can unflip vehicles using a repair truck, reducing dependency on teammates for basic logistics.
Base lockout on contact
Establishing new bases is disabled once the enemy is encountered, forcing teams to commit to positions rather than retreating endlessly.
Harbor supply economy
FOBs receive passive supply based on the number of harbor points your team controls, adding an economic layer to territorial fighting.
Custom audio & earplugs
Louder environmental sounds for immersion, paired with custom earplugs so you can dial back the volume when needed.
Custom seeding mode
While waiting for the server to fill, players can jump into small-scale PvP or help build the front line before the main match begins.
